Yes, everything went very smoothly. The lodge is lovely and we had a big day today in Kruger with lots of rhinos, elephants, and all sorts of baby animals. We’re back at the lodge now and only now getting online. We’re having too much fun to be checking emails 😊

Thanks, Johan. We’ve had an amazing time this week and are sad to be leaving today. Could you please confirm the time of the pick-up for the airport? I imagine it should be around 12:30 for a 3:10 flight but forgot to confirm on Sunday.

Yes, Leoni just confirmed that 12:30 is pick up time.
I am glad the time and safari at Kruger and Mjejane was lovely!
Now for your next leg….. Say to yourselves, Durban here we come!
Whish I could meet up with you just to say Hi!
Enjoy the rest of your tour.
A fantastic day to you!
Yes, it’s been a fantastic trip so far. I’m sure Durban will also be wonderful. We’ll look for the vehicle at 12:30.
Me and my colleague had a weekend spare on our work trip to Pretoria and Johan arranged to take us to Dinokeng nature reserve at a week’s notice – it was great to get out of the city! We were picked up straight from the hotel and we were in Dinokeng in under 30 mins. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the local area and the wildlife in South Africa and made an excellent tour guide. He was also kind enough to take pictures and send them over to us afterwards!
I spent a wonderful day with African Tracks Safaris at Pilanesberg National Park. Johan really impressed me with his sound knowledge not only of the Park itself, but also about the wildlife and nature. We managed to see the Big 5 and just had a great day together. I would highly recommend African Tracks Safaris!
I emailed African Tracks Safaris asking to set up a custom Day Tour from Pretoria including the Bush Baby Monkey Sanctuary, Lion Park and Elephant Sanctuary. African Tracks Safaris responded promptly and organized everything! Johan was wonderful to spend the day with and very knowledgeable on the places we visited and South Africa in general. He also took a ton of pictures and a video for me, which are fantastic keepsakes.
I was in Pretoria for work, and had a full day to kill on a day trip while waiting for my flight back home. I decided to look at the painful 2am flight time as an opportunity to actually do something fun and see a bit more of the area than I usually have time for with earlier mid-day flights. I asked the very kind and helpful lady who ran the guest house (Touch of Class – which I also highly recommend!) and she put me in contact with African Tracks Safaris, which turned out to be just the perfect fit for a perfect, relaxing and incredible day. They offered a variety of options that could be tailored to just a morning tour, or multiple Safari Packages or Holiday Packages in South Africa, depending on traveler’s needs, with several “combo” options to choose from depending on time, budget, and interest. Options ranged from family-friendly day trips to The Elephant Sanctuary, day trips to the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre, and/or day tours to The Lion Park, all of which are ideal as a Day Tour from Pretoria and child-friendly allowing for a bit more interaction for kids and families. These can be combined with day trips to local African craft markets & Lesedi Cultural Village as well, or if you want to refresh those distant memories from freshman anthropology class, you can visit the “Cradle of Human Kind” site to appreciate the historical significance of this area in human evolution.
I opted for a day Safari in the Pilanesberg National Park, about 2 hours away, and perfect for a day trip from Pretoria. The park itself was scenic, with a few blinds where you could get out and watch the animals safely from a discreet wooden enclosure, and a decent restaurant in the middle that offered such fare as ostrich burgers and beer which, on a hot safari day, hit the spot. What really made the trip lovely though was the excellent and attentive service from our knowledgeable guide at African Tracks Safaris, Johan. Even before the trip, he went out of his way to accommodate our last-minute request for a day tour and showed up right on time with a pleasant smile and patient, courteous attitude. Friendly and outgoing, he was full of facts, and knew exactly where to find the animals despite the heat and dry season, and never made us feel rushed. This was my 2nd safari, but African Tracks Safaris stood out for the thoughtful details – from complimentary park guidebooks, bottled water, and amarula chocolates, to always making sure we had ample time for photos or just soaking it all in. Ill-prepared for an impromptu safari with only iPhones, Johan even kindly shared his photos with us after! I’ll definitely use African Tracks Safaris next time I’m in town.
Dear Johan – African Tracks Safaris,
Some weeks ago we returned safely home from our trip to South Africa. Coming from Germany via Johannesburg we arrived in Pretoria on 21st April. The manager of the Bohemian House recommended us a day tour with African Tracks Safaris and this was really a good advise. We had the great pleasure to spend the afternoon with you. Herewith we would like to thank you for making a city tour of Pretoria possible and telling us many interesting things about the city and your country. By the way, the Italian restaurant you recommended us was really not bad.
Next day we started a three day tour onboard the Rovos Rail (very nice and old fashioned station building!). It was a unique experience for my wife and me. But the highlight of our stay in your country was our visit to Thanda Private Game Reserve. We have spent there three nights and with the help of our guides we have seen many beautiful animals. The final destination of our trip was Capetown. We enjoyed this beautiful city and visited Cape of Good Hope, of course.
All in all we enjoyed a very nice holiday in South Africa. But the very best and the most beautiful experience we made are the people of your country. We met only nice and friendly people, proud of their country and always happy to talk to us and ready to answer all our questions. So we both decided to come back to South Africa or to another country in this region, may be in 2018.
Possibly you do not remember us, therefore I enclose some photos to this email.
We wish you all the best and thanks a lot again,
Marion-Sybille Feja and Tomas Schmidt
